So what do we , the volunteer AAS Judges , do ? Well , in the fall / winter , we excitedly look forrard to the new varieties that breed companies submit for the AAS Trials . Then , after the AAS federal agency sends us the seeds , we germinate them , grow out the transplant , engraft them in the garden then observe and evaluate the resulting works ’s functioning all season - long . It ’s basically an out-of-door scientific experiment ! Then we get to make full out these supercool , complex scoresheets that determine if that entry has the potential drop to become a future AAS Winner .
Those AAS award - gain varieties are n’t just for the professionals though . Sure , it ’s a great mode for us to see what ’s young in works breeding and guide the choices we make for next growing seasons .

Yes , the AAS Judges are professionals in their field . They have applied to become a judge and were approved by theBoard of Directors . preceding experience in trialing is a key constituent in being dependent to become part of this prestigious group .
