Terra - cotta pendants in thebreakfast nookwere handmade in Mexico and tramp light through their cutouts . Perera warmed up the kitchen with lots of natural woven material , including organic rattan light fastness by Kathy Kuo and woven window shades . Counter stools from The Future Perfect wear off a vegan chenille by Kieffer Textiles that echoes sorry notes in thebreakfast elbow room .
Vegan Design Can Be Colorful
It was also her mission to tincture the formerly flat spec house with the reverberance her clients want . “ They are absolutely preoccupied with color , ” Perera says . “ They were imagining a house that was whimsical and full of bright , fun coloring material . Ten or so class ago , it was difficult to find anything vegan that was n’t boring and beige . But fortuitously , times have changed and our options are so much well . ”

Just off the front door is the couple ’s library . Perera design thebookshelveswith back panels that look like vintage wood . She added brasslibrary sconcesabove the built - ins . “ We liven the space with color , from dark clove pink pink to topaz , ” Perera says .
“ The inclination goes on and on , ” Perera state . “ And beyond the vegan view of the domicile ’s blueprint , we were also endeavor to honor the environs byreducing our C footprintand shop at topically . In every way and in every conclusion , we were thinking about the environment and animals . ”
