Getting better with indoor growing
This is Joe in northerly Indiana . I ’m a positive nurseryman alfresco , but I often fight withhouseplants . They are , however , a pretty essential facet of receive through our foresightful , cold , snowy winters , so I ’ve been trying more , and have had some success I ’m happy with .
Rabbit ’s metrical foot fern(Davallia fejeensis)has been an easy - to - uprise star for me . When I first grease one’s palms it , it expect terrible ; the fronds all got chocolate-brown and crispy on the edge . But I intend that was just the physical process of adapting to the conditions in my planetary house because after that , it put out unexampled , beautiful green frond and has been thriving in pretty low light and my often - forgetful lacrimation schedule .
The muzzy rootstalk are on the move . I think this plant is going to turn the hanging hatful it is in into a whole ball of fern shortly , which will be cool !

Air plants(Tillandsia)have been a struggle for me in the past times . I ’ve tried mist them , but that never seem to get them enough water supply . But I ’ve got a new schedule for caring for them that seems to be play great .
Once every week or two , they all go in the sink and get a soak in halfhearted body of water for about 20 minutes while I confirm whether my other houseplants need water . They ’ve done dandy !
Low light source is an issue in my house , and some plants are suffering for it . This littlecactusis stretching because it is just too shaded . I think I ’m just going to have to permit this one go and choose more low - luminance plants .

But I have see a root to some of my dark areas away from windows . This corner of my home office has no window , but industrial plant are thriving because . . .
. . . I putcheapLED lightson the ceiling ! light-emitting diode light are low-priced and so muscularity efficient it cost almost nothing to go them . They have allowed me to green up more corner of my house .
