Today ’s photos are from Kristina and Bob Sislow in Riverwoods , Illinois , a northerly suburbia of Chicago . Kris says,“My married man and I have a Passion of Christ for all thing garden . We relish plants , be it yearly , perennial , tropicals , bushes , or Tree . I essay to integrate our lantana and plumbago standards ( some that I ’ve been develop for as long as 30 year ) into our rather unmanicured , overflowing gardens . If it looks like it can be trained into a Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree , I ’m lead to try it .
“ During our many driving holiday all over the country we are always on the lookout for unusual plants that can be used in our yard . These picture show only the back part of our one acre railyard . I also think you all might enjoy a photo of our almost 10 - foot - tall Lycopersicon esculentum plant we grow this year .
“ Many of our annuals are grown from seeds and we also we also distribute from cuttings . It helps to have a twain of hobby greenhouses , one for caparison and propagating strong weather condition plant and one cold greenhouse to overwinter bonsai trees , lift trees , and some potted plants not capable to take our very frigid USDA Hardiness Zone 5 winter . It ’s been an extremely teetotal summer in our country , so watering has been a real challenge this class . ”

Wow , Kris , I think you overcame the challenge ! Your garden is lucullan and oh - so - colored . Beautiful ! Thanks for sharing .
