Did you realize you could plant trees without digging holes ?

“ Wanted to partake in our go - to method of planting tree . This is just one method acting but has work out extremely well for us . I protrude doing it this way when I was engraft under oaks a few age ago and had the worst time apprehend through the oak root scheme . Then I thought to myself why am I working so hard at this ? The roots were insane .
Why not just put it on top and the root word will find their way down ?
And that ’s exactly what pass . They are thriving under there now . add up to happen out it works everywhere for me and no excavation . I do it this .
What I base out was , I was healing the ground underneath the composition board so by the clock time the roots did damp through the soil was start out to cure and the roots did n’t go into shock . The earthworms were there and had prepare the land for roots . We telephone the dinner party gong and they hail . This also helped with needing well drawing soil which all plant and trees need .
The only issue I can see doing this method acting was possible wind issues . Easy enough to fix with rebar or plant stake but frankly in 3 year I have not had the issuance I thought I would but food for thought if you ’re in a high confidential information area .
If you judge this , my advice would be get a really good aged compost from a source you confide , if they have used any persistent weedkiller obviate using .
Next use a lot of it , do n’t be afraid to stack it up all around it .
Then cover heavy with mulch .
Just verify to feed and body of water on a regular basis according to the tree ’s needs . Again , your area is probably different from mine and might require something unlike , but something to play around with . Also this can be a slight more advanced depending on your compost . check that it ’s not too pack , if so you might need to amend with sand , perlite , char etc to appropriate for free flow .

Sam is making lasagna garden for trees , basically . Sheet mulching them in , rather than grind .
I love the idea . The biggest return is feel compost that has n’t been contaminated with Grazon or an equivalent .
You might have to just make your own , or use some fill grime to mob up before mulching .
We ’ll have to seek this in our grounds . We ’ve done like thing with perennials , herb and small transplant – why not trees ?
