A trip across the pond to a beautiful garden
Today we ’re off to Scotland to impose with Pat Colston .
We populate in Perthshire , around 12 miles from the east coast of Scotland at an elevation of 143 m. Our cottage is around 140 years old , and the garden would originally have been used only to grow vegetables and yield .

A across-the-board view of part of the garden shows a cercidiphyllum tree(Cercidiphyllum japonicum , Zones 4–8),a tall silver birch(Betula pendula , Zones 2–7 ) , one of five cordylines(Cordylineaustralis , Zones 8–10),Pittosporumshrubs , golden philadelphus(Phyladelphus coronarius‘Aureus ’ , Zones 4–8 ) , andPhysocarpus‘Diablo ’ ( Zones 2–8 ) .
In this picture are genus Cordyline , Phormiumtenax(Zones 8–10 ) , which always flowers well , and a enceinte stand ofbamboo , which has to be watched carefully because it really wants to spread throughout the whole garden ! We have grasp a deep around it and regularly cut any shoots that are trying to cross the trench . Many hoi polloi are surprised that flora like genus Cordyline and bamboo can survive in Scotland , and one passer even expect if we got coco palm on our palm trees ! I wish .
This long herbaceous bed is fill with , among other thing , red monarda(Monardadidyma , Zones 4–9 ) , profane delphinium(Delphiniumelatum , Zones 3–7 ) , yellow anthemis(Anthemistinctoria , Zones 6–8 ) , pink sidalcea(Sidalcea malviflora , Zones 5–9 ) , spiky yellowCentaureamacrocephala(Zones 3–8 ) , phlox(Phloxpaniculata , Zones 4–8),Geranium psilostemon(Zones 5–7 ) , and a largeFatsia japonica(Zones 7–10 ) at the end of the seam .

Here are an orange azalea(Rhododendronhybrid , Zones 6–10 ) , behind it an old plum tree tree that still crop well , aPhysocarpus‘Dart ’s atomic number 79 ’ , and a large Nipponese maple(Acerpalmatum , Zones 5–9 ) that needs a hard trim every yr .
Agapanthus(African lily , Zones 7–10 ) and the highly scented lily ‘ Dutch Red ’

I hope you delight experience something dissimilar , and I mail best wish from Scotland .
