Wow , yesterday was a rollercoaster drive ! I assure to bring it back down to human scurf today , and I think today ’s garden does the magic . We chew the fat Katie Kagler ’s garden in Hudson , Ohio , back in March ( refresh your memoryHERE ) , and we all fell in love with her cottagey- style planting and patio . Today she ’s back to show us what ’s going on this twelvemonth .
Katie says,“So far this summertime it has been all about rabbit ascendance ! The rabbit have eaten so many of my plants that it is just scandalous . In some of the pictures you could see cages around the foundation of the plants . They have eaten five trollius plants to the ground , two clematis , three baptisa , turtlehead , liatrus , all my delphinium , phlox , bachelor buttons , four roses , etc . You name it !
“ They start in on the two vast clematis on the garage wall and I catch that just in the nick of time and cage the bottom of them . They seem to feel that the stock - buy rabbit spray and the homemade rabbit sprayer ( cayenne and soap ) are merely salad dress . They ate my full clematis plant on the arbor that was just about to flower . It ’s come back and I cage it , so there is hope ! Plants are start to come back , so we ’ll see what happens from here . ”

My gosh , Katie , you may not tell that you ’ve been press an heroic struggle – the garden look lush and gorgeous ! Maybe your fellow GPODers have some tips for deliver the goods the war … . * * * Katie sent in so many great photo that we ’ll be spend tomorrow in her garden , too . Stay tuned ! * * *
