Storing Scion Wood

The expectant thing with storing scion wood is to keep a right wet content . Too wet is a bad idea – and too wry will kill it even nimble . You ’re poise between buncombe and desiccation .

Steven Edholm talks about his memory board and cargo ships methodshere .

This spring he aim the time to talk grafting with me for an hour or so and really filled in the gap in my knowledge , and for that I ’m very grateful . I tend to acquire a lot through experimentation but I ’m still always hunting for mentors on topics I have n’t mastered . It ’s skillful not to reinvent the bike . After doing dozens of graft , I finger quite confident in my power so I figure it ’s time to start sharing my knowledge here … but Steven has done jillion , so just keep that in mind .

As you ’ll see in the video , I simply spritzed the mulberry scion wood with water so they were slightly dampish , then lay in them in a formative store bag in my fridge . I have a feeling they ’d keep all the room until springiness if I let them . It ’s amazing how resilient dormant Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree can be . I found out their major power by doing nude - theme transplanting this fountain before bud break … you could just   deplume a peach tree out of the ground , rap the dirt off the roots , then pop up it in another maw and it would exist . I did it . Do that in summertime and they ’re toast .

Do n’t be afraid to start grafting – it ’s a lot of merriment and leads to sugared effect , as give away in these awing plums I reap this summertime from an improved plum tree Natalie Wood scion I tacked into a Chickasaw plum tree last spring !

Start planning ahead for spring now … and you ’ll harvest some cherubic results !
