Touring a gorgeous shade garden
We ’re visiting another garden with Cherry Ong today , one that she see on a tour organise by theVancouver Hardy Plant Societylast summertime . This is a collector ’s tint garden , full of tidy sum of beautiful and unusual plants , let in a stunning collection ofPodophyllum(mayapples ; hardiness varies , but mostly zone 6–9 ) .
apart from a few spray of white flowers , this is a green - on - green - on - gullible perspective that is also an incredible study in texture . sheer podophyllum leafage in the foreground contrasts with the more touchy hardy impatiens ( Impatiensomeiana , Zones 7–9 ) . The impatiens foliage shoot a line beautiful lighter green veining down the center of each leaf .
This genus has one celebrated North American species ( Podophyllumpeltatum , Zones 4–8 ) but countless Asian species and loan-blend , some of which swash attractively patterned foliage like this .

The podophyllum flowers hang down under the leaves but are well worth bending down to take a close look at .
Ca n’t get enough of this genus Podophyllum foliage !
And how about the sensational geometric convention on these leave ?

Seen from below , the patterned parting burn unlike color , and the dark flowers are visible .
The narrow gravel way of life guides you through the lushness and provides a line to the rich green .
Stunning flower of the Chinese sweetshrub ( Calycanthuschinensis , Zones 5–9 )

This garden is a masterpiece in common , and the way of life sneak out of view invite you to see what might be behind the next bend .
This imbed dark-green wall is breathtaking . Everything on it looks so lush and perfect , while two metal fish create a centerpiece to the whole view .
We ’ll be back with more photos from this incredible garden tomorrow !
