A stunning New England garden
Today Julie Hustvet is take us along on a visit to one of the premiere botanical garden in New England .
I took a tripper out to Maine last fall ( September 2021 ) , so of course I had to confabulate the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden ( which happens also to have an extensivedahliadisplay ) .
Syneilesisaconitifolia(Zones 4–8 ) also goes by the common name of shredded umbrella industrial plant , and it is promiscuous to see why it got that name . Its beautiful leaves are especially dramatic when they first emerge in the spring , but they look marvelous well into fall .

Giantbutterbur(Petasitesjaponicusvar . giganteaus , Zones 5–9 ) makes truly Brobdingnagian , spectacular leaf . This plant loveswet locations , and though the leave are amazing , it can spread aggressively , so works with maintenance .
In late summer , theornamental grassescome into their peak , pee-pee an airy cloud of flowers at the back of this planting .
This is part of a special exhibit of recycled wood sculptures by Danish creative person Thomas Dambo .

Thispanicle hydrangea(Hydrangeapaniculata , Zones 5–9 ) may be the motley ‘ Fire Light ’ or a standardised cultivar that turn a strong red coloring as the efflorescence old age .
These dahlias ( Dahliavariabilis , Zones 8–10 or as a tender bulb ) can bloom most of the summertime , but they always peak in the decline .

Informative signage welcome you to thebutterflyand moth garden , which is filled with works for these beautiful animals to fee on .
