Conifers for Cocktail Making
When the cold weather comes , there is n’t anything beneficial than a foraged and infused cocktail .
While there is n’t always a whole lot to scrounge for in the winter , conifer needlesare pretty honest this time of year . This is a good matter , because they are a wonderful delicacy , especially during the holidays .
I of late maderedwood needle shortbread cookie , and they were amazing !

All the while , I had this coniferous tree infused vodka absorb away until the right moment … and now is that moment !
I actually made this with redwood needles that were collected on a hike that we went on in Northern California several weeks ago .
Most any conifer needle can be used , though , as the legal age of them are comestible . Try it with pine , spruce , true fir , or hemlock tree ( the evergreen tree , not the vicious plant ) . The only one you really call for to steer all the way of is thetoxic yew tree .

Conifer Infused Vodka Recipe
This conifer infuse vodka is so easy to do that it hardly even needs a recipe ! You ’ll want a big fistful of scrounge edible conifer needles and abottle of vodka .
Rinse the conifer needles if they are unsporting , and put them into a quart sized shock . Pour the vodka into the jar , cover the needle .
insure the jolt with a lid and put in a nerveless and glum seat for at least several days and up to two months .

I let mine impregnate for the full two months , and I was a little worried that it might be too long , but it was n’t at all ! It turned out perfect .
Strain the needle from the vodka . The redwood needle turn the vodka a beautiful reddish browned colour .
All of the essence of the tree diagram is now in this vodka , and it smell amazing !

It taste like the perfect winter vacation drink . Serve it up directly in a refined sugar rimmed glass .
Or you may get fancy and make a cocktail with it . It would intermix well with soda water water or even gingerroot ale .
Anything where the conifer relish can still really shine would be best .

I really love the simpleness of the sequoia feel itself . Now I ca n’t wait to attempt this with unlike mixed bag of conifers to see how the tang is different . I ’m conceive spruce tips or Douglas fir next !
