Flowers through the seasons

Today we ’re off to Wales to visit Alan Challoner ’s garden .

I have a semi - woodland garden in Anglesey , and it is almost always yield me peak no matter the sentence of year .

This year there has been a marvellous presentation of old homo ’s beard(Clematis vitalba , Zones 4–8 ) . Like other member of the Clematis genus , former man ’s beard ( or traveler ’s pleasure ) wax over other flora using its leafage chaff and flower stalks . The leave are not unlike the conversant garden forms of clematis . The leaf still hunt entwine around any commodious structure in their vicinity and then lignify ( become woody ) . It has now grown to a portentous length — high-pitched into the trees and down the hedge along the roadside .

As we get into autumn , I thought you might care to see a late rose flower , a plant that I have grown from a cutting take from a intercrossed tea rose . It is now in its third class , and this is its 2nd blooming . As presently as I saw these two flower up against each other , one a bit grownup than the other , I thought of a female parent and daughter having a kiss before iniquity and bedtime .

In spring , theweigela(Weigela florida , Zones 4–8 ) is unstinting with pinkish prime .

Daffodils(Narcissushybrids , Zones 3–8 ) are growing here and there on the lawn .

Numerous clumps of snowdrops(Galanthussp . , Zones 3–7 ) in bloom mark the earliest sign of leaping .

by and by in the season , the garden is plushy and full of green .

Agolden chain tree(Laburnum , Zones 5–7)drips with scandalmongering flowers .

The old - fashioned rose ‘ Rambling Rector’(Zones 5–9)lives up to its name , rambling over the garden with volume of fragrant clean flowers .

Another roam rose , ‘ American Pillar ’ , has bright pink efflorescence .
