One greenhouse becomes two, and a beautiful patio
My name is Linda Newber , and I experience in Wilmington , North Carolina , Zone 8 . Since last submitting scene ( Lindas Coastal North Carolina Garden ) , I have added twogreenhousesto my garden . Thought I ’d mail some pics this time of the greenhouses and a tincture garden I am acquire behind them . Please overlook the messiness in some of the pictures . I was n’t thinking about submitting them when I took them . Hope you delight the film .
I had desire one larger greenhouse , but when I went to the preparation commission , I quickly learned that anything over 12 feet necessitate permit , inspections , and lots of hoops to jump through . So I ditch my original plan and work up two greenhouses just under 12 feet square . I then joined them with an bower and brick patio .
The patio extend behind the greenhouse , where I am developing ashade garden . I ’ve also let in a picture of abutterfly gardenI’m working on in front of the glasshouse . Most of these film are from last summer .

A peek inside one of the houses shows a leaded glass window — a steal from Habitat for Humanity .
I bought this planetary house in 2008 , but it was built in 1959 . As with many menage in this area , it is surrounded by 50 - year - oldcamelliasandazaleas . you could see a banking concern of azaleas in this photo . Several of the camelia have grown into trees , and most of the nicety behind the greenhouses is provided by one of those .
My latest project is the back fencing . chain of mountains - connexion fences are not very attractive . I had a friend , BJ , who wanted a garden construction in her yard use up down , including lot of vinyl wicket . I was only too glad to assist dismantle it , and she give me the lattice . A cousin-german , Valora , had some lattice collecting dust in her shed , and I bought two pieces from Habitat for Humanity at a dollar each . I attached the wicket to the fencing with some plastic attachments I use with vines . The latticework brightens up the sphere and throw a skillful backdrop for the industrial plant . full cost was $ 2.00 and some cubital joint grease . I love recycling . The fountain was another steal . I found it on Craigslist . I am blessed to have a cousin , James , who loves gardening as much as I. He does the punishing lifting and much of the hardscaping .

Coneflowers(Echinacea , Zones 4–9 ) and yarrow(Achillea , Zones 3–9 ) mingle in shades of pinkish and white .
Stokes aster(Stokesialaevis , Zones 5–9 ) develop large purple blossom over a very foresighted season and is a peachy aboriginal flora .
